If you want to come from A to B by car, you want a reliable vehicle. Which models can be used for this depends on several factors. As different studies show, there are differences in the individual brands – and not everyone cuts off well.

The US data analysis company JD Power analyzed the reliability of numerous cars and in one study summarized. Various brands were assessed using the number of their problems per 100 vehicles over a period of three years.

JD Power has examined 184 specific problem areas in nine vehicle categories. Including: air conditioning, driving assistance, driving experience, functions as well as controls and drive train. The data is based on survey answers from 34,175 first owners. The analysis was carried out in the period in August to November 2024. In the following ranking we show you the ten most unreliable car brands 2025.

10th place: RAM

In tenth place in the ranking of the most unreliable car brands, RAM ends up 242 problems per 100 vehicles. The truck manufacturer specializes in robust pick-ups such as the RAM 1500. Incorrect braking control triggered a large recall campaign last year.

As a Tech Industry expert, I find it concerning that some car brands continue to be labeled as the most unreliable in 2025. In an age where technology is rapidly advancing and becoming more integrated into vehicles, it is crucial for car manufacturers to prioritize reliability and quality in their products.

Unreliable car brands not only lead to frustration for consumers but also can pose safety risks on the road. With the increasing complexity of modern vehicles, there is a greater potential for malfunctions and failures if proper quality control measures are not in place.

I believe that car manufacturers should invest more in research and development, quality assurance processes, and customer feedback systems to address the issues that are causing their vehicles to be deemed unreliable. By prioritizing reliability and quality, car brands can build trust with consumers and ultimately improve their reputation in the market.

In conclusion, the most unreliable car brands in 2025 should take this feedback as an opportunity to improve their products and services to meet the demands of today’s tech-savvy consumers. Failure to do so may result in further loss of market share and credibility in the industry.
