In the series “Homescreen!” Let us present the homescreen of people from the social media, marketing, media and tech industry-including app recommendations. Today: Fabio Griemens, co -founder and managing director of Helio Connect.
Fabio Grimes loves structure on his screen
Fabio Griemens: I recently founded two things: a small family and a company called Helio. With Helio, we enable investments in large photovoltaic projects in Germany, high-yield, transparent and with a measurable effect. And privately our newborn daughter changes my view of time, responsibility and future. My homescreen reflects both.
A good day begins with structure for me. And ideally does not end with to-dos. My calendar is the first instance for this – which is not in Google Calendar (for Android), does not happen either. In Apple Notes (for Android) lands everything that (yet) is not ready to say: from “The List of Big Things” to spontaneously listed aha moments.
Gmail (for Android), Hangouts paired with Fyxer (for Android): These apps support me in daily communication. Fyxer, for example, automatically logs my meetings, suggests suitable answers to emails and thus becomes my digital memory.
In combination with Pandadoc (for Android), Zapier and Powerbi (for Android) I can see the status outstanding contracts live. As soon as certain KPIs change, Zapier automatically sends the corresponding emails. Nice, right?
I use the Gmail Widget for the quick view of the mailbox – unfortunately right next to Microsoft teams (for Android). I couldn’t (yet) enforce slack in the team.
My motto: Family First
As a four -time founder, I get little sleep. My little daughter all the more. When she sleeps, one monitors one Baby-App (for Android) the situation. My screen also becomes a digital parent room, which is honestly a larger cinema than some Netflix series.
I would like to read more, but that is currently a little short. I travel a lot. An ideal opportunity to catch up on the train – you might think. Unfortunately I always get sick. Fortunately for that Audible (for Android) and the content on the ears.
And if we are already on the subject of audio: on my screen the Podcast app (for Android) in no case are missing. For me there are for me: Handelsblatt Morning Briefing, The Location of the Nation, Pivot, Diary of a CEO, Raining Moderates, Trevor Noah – Whats Next). For messages, on the other hand, I prefer the Daily show-App (for Android), New York Times (for Android), The Economist (for Android) and Techcrunch (for Android).
Compensation instead of excuse
Everyday life as a founder demands and I need a lot of sport to compensate. For fun, I have the fitness app together with friends Leek brother (for Android) developed. For people who want to develop from the leek to the fit broccoli. Daily sports challenges, simple workouts. That is often enough as an impulse.
A special app for me: our Helio Connect app. There, investors of PV parks can see in real time how much electricity their plot is in the solar park and how this results in concrete returns. That motivates. And it makes what we believe in, visible: capital, enables the future.
Last but not least: Two apps on my homescreen stand not only for function, but also for stations: LinkedIn (for Android) was my starting point. In Dublin I did a business leadership program at today’s Microsoft subsidiary and learned how platforms think and scale.
Freenow (for Android) reminds me of my time in the mobility sector: quick growth, operational pressure, team responsibility. Both shaped me. While I use both apps almost every day, what I have learned there is also in Helio.
