Numerous Trade Republic customers are currently complaining about missing dividend payments. They vent their displeasure via social media – especially due to the poor customer support. This is not the first time that the neobroker has failed in terms of communication. A comment.
Since the beginning of June 2024, numerous Trade Republic customers have been complaining about a lack of dividend payments. They vent their anger on social media. However, most people are even more bothered by the lack of customer communication – and rightly so. It would have been so easy for the neobroker if they had learned from the recent past.
Trade Republic is disappointing many of its customers – again
As early as September 2023, Trade Republic scared off numerous customers. At that time, the company presented a new app that caused little enthusiasm among users. On the contrary: there was sometimes clear criticism. But it got even worse.
Because the neobroker sometimes reacted to the customer feedback with catastrophic reactions and a lack of understanding. Crisis communication? None! But Trade Republic apparently learned nothing from this. Although: This time it was a bit different. Instead of reacting to the current criticism with a lack of understanding, the company simply responds: not at all!
No customer support for missing dividends
“Trade Republic’s lack of response is the worst thing, a disaster,” writes one angry customer on the spa news service X (formerly Twitter).
The missing dividend payments only seem to apply to a few stocks. But the lack of communication bothers many people even more, as they only received automated answers from customer support.
According to Trade Republic, the problems have to do with a system change that apparently led to capacity bottlenecks. But instead of informing the affected customers directly, the company only responded to a request from Business Insider and announced:
Due to a system change, few dividends were posted to the customer last week, not in real time, but, as is usual with other brokers, only a few banking days after the payday. In the current quarter, this affected DWS and Porsche, among others. The outstanding dividends will be processed and posted this Monday. Customers receive these during the day or tomorrow.
