Marco Voigt: 5 Questions to the founder of the Greentech Festival
Hello Marco, whether inflation, trade wars or the change of government in Germany: What star is the Green Tech Festival 2025?
We live in a time of multiple crises – geopolitically, economically and ecological. But this is exactly what is also an opportunity: Now it is decided whether we are brave enough to make real change. The Greentech Festival 2025 is under the star of the departure. We deliberately set a strong sign of economically sustainable sustainability.
It is no longer just about good ideas – it’s about implementation, scaling and effect. Anyone who does not invest today will lose the connection tomorrow. We offer the stage on which pioneers and decision -makers meet: inside to promote the transformation together – specifically, globally and with real impact.
What’s new this year?
In 2025 we sharpen our profile with a stronger focus on B2B and the industry. New focus on content such as “mobility & transport”, “Energy & Infrastructure” and “Industry & Materials” will run through the entire festival – from the conference to the exhibition to the Green Awards. With this thematic focus, we would like to address the large levers of the decarbonization.
Last year you introduced the “start-up country” to offer young companies a platform. How did the concept develop and what role start-ups play at this year’s festival?
The start-up country was a complete success in 2024-both from the visitor’s point of view: inside and the founder: inside. It clearly showed how important space is for fresh ideas and creative solutions. That is why we continue the 2025 format and look forward to welcoming exciting start-ups again. Start-ups are essential for us when it comes to actively shaping the change. At the GTF you get a prominent stage on which you can network, present and grow.
Sustainability is a central theme of the GTF. What measures do you take to ensure that the festival itself is sustainable as an event?
Sustainability is not only content, but also the claim of our own processes. This starts with the CO₂ compensation of our events and extends to the consistent use of green energy, waste avoidance and a purely vegetarian/vegan catering. We continuously check all festival components for their environmental effects and develop measures to improve. As a festival, we not only want to talk about green solutions, we also want to live.
What are you the most looking forward to at this year’s Greentech Festival 2025?
Honestly: on the encounters. The GTF is a place where new partnerships are created where people with very different backgrounds exchange ideas about the future. I am particularly looking forward to the dynamics in the start-up country, the impulses from our conference and the moment when the first visitors go through the gates inside-this is a goosebump moment every year.
