Researchers from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) have developed a humanoid robot to regulate the traffic using AI. He should primarily make the school’s way of school safer.

A robot for “Vision Zero”?
The tests are intended to show how such AI systems can be used in the future in front of schools, at highly frequented transitions or in complex traffic situations. In addition, the results should flow into the further development of robotics, but also in traffic education and urban planning.
The whole thing is part of a larger plan: the EU strategy “Vision Zero”, which no longer wants to record any road deads by 2050. The focus is on children and weaker road users in particular. Whether and how robots can help to achieve this ambitious goal will be shown in the coming years.
