They are efficient and suitable for everyday use – but are they also safe? In this ranking, we show which hybrid cars best protect their occupants and other road users.
Hybrid drive cars are a compromise for many drivers. You can use cheap and environmentally friendly fuels, but also use fossil fuels if necessary. Since there are hybrid cars in all shapes and colors, big differences can be identified in terms of safety. In this list we reveal which new models offer particularly great protection in 2025 – both for people in the car and for people on the street.
The safest hybrid cars
As a yardstick for this ranking, we have the Euro NCAP crash test taken. Behind the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program) organization is a consortium of European transport ministries, automotive clubs and insurance associations, which has evaluated new cars according to a standardized five-star system since 1997.
For a high number of points, a vehicle must convince in four categories: the protection of adults and children in the car, the protection of pedestrians and the effectiveness of the installed assistance systems. The higher average value does not always correspond to a higher placement, since the individual categories are evaluated differently.
All cars in the list have received five out of five possible stars in the security test and thus meet high demands. The basic requirement for this is that at least 70 percent can be achieved in each category. Some models can only do this with optionally installable security packages. In the following top ten we show which hybrid cars 2025 best cut off.
10th place: Renault Clio Hybrid
The Renault Clio Hybrid takes the tenth place with an average value of 83 percent. Protection for adults is particularly noteworthy – there is a score of 96 percent. On the other hand, there are deductions for pedestrian protection (72 percent) and the installed assistance systems (75 percent).

As a Tech Industry expert, I believe that plug-in hybrid cars will indeed be among the safest vehicles on the road by 2025. With advancements in technology, such as improved battery systems and autonomous driving features, plug-in hybrids will offer a level of safety that surpasses traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
The combination of electric power and a gasoline engine in plug-in hybrid cars provides not only increased fuel efficiency but also improved performance and safety features. These vehicles will have advanced safety systems such as collision avoidance, lane departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control, all of which work together to prevent accidents and protect passengers.
Additionally, the electrification of vehicles will lead to a shift in the automotive industry towards cleaner, more sustainable transportation. Plug-in hybrids will contribute to reducing emissions and improving air quality, making them not only safe but also environmentally friendly.
Overall, I believe that plug-in hybrid cars will be at the forefront of automotive safety by 2025, offering drivers a combination of advanced technology, performance, and sustainability.
