According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority, 43.1 percent of all new registrations in September were cars from this segment. When it comes to the question of which manufacturer you should choose for plug-in hybrids, the comprehensive study “Best of E-Mobility: Customer Champions 2025/26” by the German Society for Consumer Studies (DtGV). In a large-scale survey, over 3,100 people were asked about their satisfaction with 143 brands and providers from the world of electromobility.

In addition to a decent range, what is most important to consumers is reliability, high-quality equipment and a fair price-performance ratio. German car brands dominate the list, only Opel, a well-known company, did not make it into the top ten.

A value between 0 and 10 was determined for each brand. As a reference point: Fiat performs worst in the list of 17 manufacturers with 7.21 points. In the following gallery we show the top ten most popular car brands for plug-in hybrids.

10th place: BMW

The top ten is opened by BMW. The manufacturer from Bavaria comes to a value of 7.78. Customers appreciate the successful combination of sporty driving dynamics and efficient electric drive. BMW ranks fifth in terms of equipment and seventh in terms of range.
