When temperatures rising, more and more people are relying on air conditioners to cool their apartments or offices. But not all models are equally good. In our weekly ranking we therefore show you the ten best air conditioning systems – according to Stiftung Warentest.
The warmer it gets, the more people long for cooling. On hot days, effective and efficient air conditioning can ensure that the living or working environment has a pleasant temperature.
In particular, two things should be able to do air conditioning: overheated rooms quickly cool again and ensure a pleasant room temperature – and it is best to consume this without a lot of electricity. The Stiftung Warentest currently leads 34 split devices in your database, including Daikin, Mitsubishi and Samsung models.
The best air conditioning systems in comparison
Split devices proved to be energy efficient. They have no drain hose and consist of an inner and an outdoor unit. The installation is complex, but cool split devices are faster and need less electricity than mobile monoblocks.
In order to test the individual models, the experts checked, among other things, how long a device takes to cool a test room from 35 degrees Celsius to 30.28 and 25 degrees and what electricity costs arise. The room had an area of up to 35 square meters and was aligned to the south.
In the case of newer devices, the consumer organization also evaluated the time until a 15 -degree cool room was warmed up to 20, 22 and 25 degrees Celsius and what electricity costs generated in a certain period of time. In the following ranking we show you the ten best air conditioning systems according to Stiftung Warentest.

As a Tech Industry expert, I would say that Stiftung Warentest is a reputable and trusted source when it comes to testing and evaluating products. When it comes to air conditioning systems, their recommendations are likely based on rigorous testing and analysis of factors such as cooling efficiency, energy consumption, noise levels, and user-friendliness.
For consumers looking for the best air conditioning system, it is important to consider both the initial cost of the unit and the long-term energy consumption. Energy-efficient models may have a higher upfront cost but can save money in the long run through lower electricity bills.
It is also important to consider the size and layout of the space that needs to be cooled, as well as any specific features or requirements that are important to the user. For example, some people may prioritize a quiet operation, while others may value smart features such as remote control or compatibility with smart home systems.
Overall, it is always a good idea to consult expert reviews and recommendations, such as those from Stiftung Warentest, when making a decision about which air conditioning system to purchase. This can help ensure that you are getting a high-quality and reliable product that meets your specific needs and preferences.
