When temperatures drop, it’s often time to change your tires. For many, this means a new purchase. But which are currently considered the best winter tires? That’s why we show you in our weekly ranking twelve models in Comparison.
With the onset of the cold seasons, many drivers need to change their tires. For many, this often involves a new purchase. But a good winter tire not only has to ensure a high level of driving safety in winter road conditions, but also works in dry and wet conditions.
The best winter tires? 12 models in comparison
In order to create an overview, the ADAC twelve winter tires tested and compared with each other. Not only driving safety and economy played a role, but also the issue of sustainability. The environmental footprint of the tires was included in the test results with a share of up to 30 percent.
The remaining 70 percent was made up of security tests. A test consortium decided on the selection of products. The aim was, among other things, to represent the entire price range from the premium brand to the affordable price segment. When selecting products, only models whose EU tire label showed class C or better for “wet grip” were taken into account. In the following ranking we show you twelve winter tires in comparison.

12th place: Winrun Winter-max A1 WR22
Twelfth place in the ADAC comparison goes to the Winter-max A1 WR22 from Winrun with the Overall grade 5.5. In terms of driving safety, the model does not get beyond a poor rating due to its pronounced weaknesses on wet roads. As a Tech Industry expert, I would approach the comparison of the best winter tires with a focus on technological advancements and performance metrics. I would analyze factors such as tread design, rubber compound, siping patterns, and overall durability to determine which tires offer the best grip, traction, and handling in winter conditions.
I would also consider the latest innovations in tire technology, such as studless designs, silica-infused compounds, and advanced tread patterns that enhance braking and cornering performance on snow and ice. Additionally, I would look at user reviews and independent testing data to see how each tire performs in real-world winter driving scenarios.
Ultimately, my goal would be to provide a comprehensive analysis of the 12 models in comparison, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each tire and offering recommendations based on their overall performance and value for consumers. By leveraging my expertise in the tech industry, I would help consumers make informed decisions when choosing the best winter tires for their vehicles.
